WOW!!!

Bully prevention is not about having the right policy, it’s about allowing our kids the freedom to be happy! According to the National Education Association, PACER Center, and StopBullying.gov: • 1 in 7 students in grades K – 12 are either a bully or have been a victim of bullying. • An estimated 160,000 U.S. children miss school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other students. • 83% of girls and 79% of boys report experiencing harassment. • Six out of 10 teenagers say they witness bullying in school once a day. • 35% of kids have been threatened online. • Nearly 9 out of 10 LGBTQ youth report being verbally harassed at school in the past year because of their sexual orientation. • 57% of boys and 43% of girls reported being bullied because of religious or cultural differences. • Bullies often go on to perpetrate violence later in life: 40% of boys identified as bullies in grades 6 through 9 had three or more arrests by age 30. • One out of every 10 students ...

Bullying and 13 reasons!

In my 3 decades of education and being around people that are ignorant I never seen so much damage done to people in that of bullying situations. The bully in the situations feels entitled and invincible knowing their actions are wrong. The victim endures unreal amounts of stress and peer pressure that sometimes results in self harm or worse Suicide. However there is a third group of people that feel both and have a choice to act or remain silent. this group of people have the power just as the bully does and just as the victim does with one single decision. The innocent bystander endures more stress and health related complications then most bullies and about equal to the victim. To me if you are an innocent bystander and do nothing your worse than the bully. If you have seen 13 reasons a show about a girl who commits suicide and leaves these audio recording behind in addition blames or states that these 13 reasons (13 reasons are kids in her school) are why she committed suicide.
