Feelings

Feelings are important because it is all we have. Feelings help us through good times, bad times and times that only matter to us. Feelings deliver us in and out of evil they can be so strong to push us to suicide. Feelings can gives us hope when there is nothing to hope for. A spark, a tear a very distant light at the end of an infinite tunnel. The value we give to our feelings increases or decreases the effect. Some feelings are so strong that they can manifest into real world situations. If we seriously have the chance to manifest our thoughts into dreams, then why do we as a species live in so much hate and discontent? Why does the media spread misery and opposition towards those who believe differently? The constant battle amongst politicians and the status quo of Washington is mind blowing. In my mind, feelings are tough to wrangle and for some reason we feel it is easier to be negative. Maybe because most Americans are in fact lazy. 1. Sympathy or acknowledgement of feelings 2. Empathy or the ability to place another’s feelings alongside your own feelings 3. Apathy or the disregard of feelings of another in any given situation. SYMPATHY Furthermore my theory involves combing the motivating factors with the feelings associated with HI. As stated above ethos is the ethical motivating factor in HI. This to me is closely matched with the standard definition of sympathetic feelings. If a person is acknowledging feelings and taking them into consideration one would tend to argue that sympathy and ethics go hand and hand. When discussing ethical situations one would be inclined to argue that you are being sympathetic to humanistic values and beliefs therefore both can be considered similar in nature. EMPATHY Empathy is the ability to place your feelings in line with another human’s feelings and to feel what they are feeling. This technique is has been perfected mostly by females as they are inherently feeling based subjective to nurture and nature. Pathos as listed above is the emotional base for HI that is used when people place what they feel in front of the feelings and motivating factors that involve logic and or policy. Policy is the standard way to implement procedures the removes HI from the decision making process. APATHY Logos or logic is term associated with HI that involves the breakdown and step by step action to resolve a situation using policy. Logos I feel is connected to Apathy in a way that it separates the emotion from a decision or argument. This term is often referred to as “nothing personal its just business”. To me that statement take the end result away from the person making the decision because they know the decision itself is going to hurt or hinder the one the decision is made against.
